About Us

From the beginning

Hill View Property Assessments has been supplying Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in the Hereford and Worcester area since the Government launch of Home Information Packs in August 2007. In fact we were one of the first specialist energy assessment companies in the area, quickly gaining a good reputation amongst local agents and solicitors but also supplying services to national panels of EPC providers.

We soon realised that this area lacked a reputable, reliable local source of the whole Home Information Pack, so we started to offer a complete HIP product that was produced here in Malvern, utilising local expertise and knowledge. We now offer a HIP service that is not only fast, friendly and professional but totally compliant and insured.

We have continued to expand our services to meet demand or changes in legislation and can offer a special EPC renewal service, floor plans or ‘mini’ HIPs to assist you or your agent market your property as quickly and effectively as possible.

Information Required

From the start we realised that this industry and the public needed good commonsense information about the new HIP and EPC requirement which had been ‘thrust’ upon the home owner. Knowledge about the energy assessment and the role of the assessor was vague, with many people thinking that just the household appliances were tested.

Our Domestic Energy Assessor, Daniel Walters, wrote a series of articles explaining HIPs and EPCs which were published in the Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter. We continually respond to enquiries and offer as much information as we can regarding what the HIP and EPC consist of and are happy to spend time with a client during the assessment to explain the process. We also produce useful leaflets and there is further information within this site or on links from it.

We are particularly keen to let people know what is involved in the energy survey – as well as the potential benefits the EPC can deliver through the information and recommendations it contains. In fact all the HIPs produced by Hill View Property Assessments include a unique document which explains how to interpret and make best use of the EPC. This document is exclusive to energy assessors accredited with NHER, the leading accreditation scheme for energy assessors.

Representative Organisation

Our DEA, Daniel Walters, is passionate about standards and professionalism in the industry and has been active in helping develop a representative organisation for energy assessors, called Pro DEA. He is now one of the Executive Board members and regularly represents the organisation at industry events.

Pro DEA aims to help improve the standards of energy assessments and energy assessors, providing the quality of service and assessments that will enhance the industry, benefit the paying customer and assist the Government’s programme of reducing carbon emissions.

As with most industries the energy assessment sector has been plagued with misinformation, inadequately trained assessors, poor standards and ‘cowboy’ elements who deliver a shoddy service and inaccurate EPCs - damaging the reputation of the estate agents who use them and the industry as a whole. If you want to be assured of a professional service from a local company with an excellent reputation please contact us.
